In this article we are going to break down the first six trades of Madden 19. We will question in each trade “who is the winner?” and additionally we will look at the hottest players on the trade block!

Chiefs — Buccaneers

Chiefs send RT Mitchell Schwartz

Buccaneers send CB Vernon Hargreaves III

The first trade made was between the Chiefs and the Buccaneers. The Bucs sent a young 77 overall corner and the Chiefs sent a 29 year old 80 overall RT. Looking at this trade I think the clear winner hands down is the Chiefs. Honestly I’m kinda scratching my head as to why the Bucs owner would make this trade. I think there are people who would of gave more for Vernon Hargreaves. However… while I believe the winner of this trade is the Chiefs I think the Bucs walk away winners as well as this is only their first of two trades.

Winner: Chiefs

Steelers — Buccaneers

Steelers send DT Javon Hargrave, SS Terrell Edmunds and a 2019 second round pick.

Buccaneers send DT Gerald McCoy and MLB Kwon Alexander

Right off the back when looking at this trade it may look like the Steelers win but upon further examination I think the Buccaneers walk away like bandits. Hands down the better players RIGHT NOW are going to Pittsburg however I don’t think Tampa Bay is looking at the present. They are looking to the future.

When looking at this trade the first thing the attention of many is drawl too is Gerald McCoy. Hands down McCoy is one of the best DT in the game. However he is 30 years old. As old man McCoy gears up to retire Javon Hargrave is just gearing up. Additionally the Bucs may be loosing The young stud MLB Kwon Alexander but consider this, they are getting the Steelers star First round SS from the 2018 draft. Further more on this move remember how the Buc lost a good young CB to the Chiefs? Yeah not that important anymore. Finally the Bucs also walk away with the Steelers second round pick.

Winner: Buccaneers

Bengals — Colts

Bengals send ROLB Vontaze Burfict and C Billy Price

Colts send their 2019 First Round Pick, 2019 Second Round Pick and the Jet 2nd Round that was acquired from a previous irl trade

For a period of time this trade looked like it was not going to go through as several members of the Trade Council denied their approval. OMG would swing in as the swing vote putting the trade through. In my personal opinion this trade and the fight to get it approved is proof that speed matter when it comes to linebackers. Vontaze is a premier Linebacker with a solid rating of 87. If his speed was 89 instead of 79 people would be lining up to drop multiple picks on him. With his speed of 79 to get multiple picks one has to include a first round rookie OLinemen and still pray for the trade to go through. When someone says speed at linebacker does not matter point them to this trade.

Beyond the questions of fairness there are other concerns with this trade some may have. Those concerns being rooted in the bengals offensive line which is horrendous. Billy Price was the only ray of hope on the line and the bengals ship him out. Major props to the colts though. With the addition of Billy Price the Colts are rocking two first round rookies on their offensive line.

Winner: Colts

Chargers — Colts

Colts send QB Jacoby Brissett and 2019 3rd Rd Pick

Chargers send CB Craig Mager and WR Dylan Cantrell

I’m sorry but this trade.. I don’t get it. I’m puzzled at what Frank was thinking here. I would of sent so much more for Jacoby. Chargers stole away their franchise QB in this one. Think about this. Chargers get maybe one of the most valuable young QBs in the game and a third round pick for a 73 overall CB and 69 overall WR. To take things even further the WR is a bum. The dude has 86 speed. 🤷‍♂️

Shamefully I approved this trade. Why? I approved it because it is a trade between two guys that I consider to be elite owners in the league and I have no doubt they will survive the entire madden season. When I vote on a trade I vote on behalf of a future owner incase we ever have to fill an empty team. When I voted on this trade it was a statement in confidence towards these two owners.

Winner: Chargers

Chargers — Broncos

Chargers send RB Melvin Gordon

Broncos send 2019 first and second round picks

Off the bat this trade looks straight forward. One of the best backs in the league for a first and second. On a deeper dive a few flags pop out. First and foremost, these guys are division rivals. Why would the chargers sends Melvin Gordon somewhere where they will have to face him twice a year. Also the second thing that strikes me is this is the chargers second trade. When looking at this trade in combo with the first it is obvious the chargers are in rebuild mode. With both trades in perspective the chargers have acquired their franchise quarterback and additional picks in rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the 2019 draft. Despite the strides in rebuilding the winner of this trade, at least for season one is the Denver Broncos

Additionally though I questioned the trade council on what trades stuck out to them and I got a response from both Vols and OMG. Both of them mentioned two trades, however in the mix of the trades they mention both of them pointed out this particular trade.

Winner: Broncos

Vikings — Cardinals

Cardinals send OLB Haasson Reddick

Vikings send RB Latavius Murrary and OLB Ben Gedeon

Warning! If you trade with Vikings, you might get a cool player but the Vikings will get a cooler one from you. I do not think I have ever seen chuck be on the short end of a trade. History proves true as he give up little to get a lot. Viking send a back up Running back and a bum linebacker for a star linebacker.

Yes the cardinals get a solid #2 back for their two back system and a decent linebacker to replace the star linebacker they gave up but I can’t help but feel robbed for the Cardinals owner.

Winner: Vikings

Hottest Players on The Block

In the mix of the handful of trades that have gone down there are still some huge names on the block being shopped. Out of the names being shipped below are some of the biggest and most impactful players.

1) Anthony Bar from the Vikings. Anthony Bar is an insane defensive freak. If you catch Chuck on the right day he may trade him. Other days… not so much. Some theorize Chuck has flirted with the idea of trading him to see what kinda value he could get for him. If he trys to tell you he won’t tried Bar he is bluffing and here is the proof.

Unfortunately William Jackson is my defensive franchise player. Ultimately if your willing to throw something stupid at Chuck he may say yes! 😜

2) Marcus Mariota of the Tennessee Titans. I have not engaged with Vols pertaining to Mariota however I know he has tested Mariota on the market. I also know from previous Maddens that Vols is more than willing to trade away Mariota. If your looking for an upgrade at quarterback and a mobile quarterback as well, Mariota is your guy!

3) Hands down the hottest player on the MHU Trade Block, Tyreek Hill of the Kansas City Chiefs. Bread has been shopping Hill for awhile. I have engaged in these talks periodically. Pretty much there has been a bidding war for Hill going on behind the scenes. Last I heard from Bread he was getting offers that broke MHU Trade Laws as his best offer was a 2019 1st, 2nd, 3rd and as beard would say “A player I want, not a player you want to trade.” This offer breaks trade laws because bread can only receive 3 items and send 3 items. This saw bread receiving four items.

Upon learning of this offer I withdrew from the Tyreek Hill bidding war. This offer was also an offer Bread was not sold on. A couple nights ago Bread informed me he finally has received an offer he likes and may be pulling the trigger. Bread is teasing a deal is done but the fact the deal hasn’t been posted leaves one to believe the Tyreek Hill Bidding war is still raging!
