You may have a point there about it being more common for tech dudes to be less adept at social nuance. But I know women who get hit on working retail, which is equally poor behaviour; basically you don’t hit on someone when/where they can’t get away. It doesn’t matter whether it’s at work, by meeting under false pretenses, or in a dark alley. Whatever the intentions, the message is, “now that you can’t get away from me….” And that’s a pretty creepy message to be sending. Maybe we need to teach basic empathy in school?
