MDP Statement on Graphic Recording of Trump’s Disgusting Comments on Women

LANSING — The Michigan Democratic Party released the following statement today, on behalf of Party Chair Brandon Dillon, regarding a 2005 recording of Donald Trump, obtained and reported on by The Washington Post, on which the Republican candidate can be heard discussing his views on women in disturbingly graphic, lewd detail:

“The graphic, disgusting views on women that we hear from Donald Trump in this recording are, without a doubt, the words of someone who doesn’t belong in a civil society, let alone the White House,” said Brandon Dillon, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party. “We already knew Trump was a sexist and a chauvinist, but the words he uses in this recording leave no room for interpretation — he has a deeply engrained contempt toward women and only sees them as objects meant for his sickening satisfaction.”

“There is absolutely no way for Trump’s GOP allies in Michigan, including Bill Schuette, Brian Calley, Mike Bishop, Tim Walberg, Jack Bergman, and David Trott, along with every other Republican elected official who has endorsed him, to deny any longer that their nominee for president is an outright misogynist and a sexist.

“They have two options — they can stand by their man, or they can stand with their mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters, and once and for all renounce their support for Trump’s disgusting candidacy for president.”
