MDP Statement on Schuette Announcement

LANSING — The Michigan Democratic Party issued the following statement, on behalf of Party Chair Brandon Dillon, regarding today’s expected announcement from Bill Schuette that he will seek the Republican gubernatorial nomination:

“In the least surprising political news in Michigan history, Bill Schuette will make the announcement he’s been dreaming about since he was a wee lad in short pants and let everyone know about his plans to cash in on the 40 years of favors he’s done for Republican donors and corporate special interests,” said Brandon Dillon, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party.

“Whether it’s carrying the Koch brothers dirty water or protecting big drug companies, Bill Schuette has made a career of looking out for anyone who can help him reach the next rung on his political ladder. He likes to call himself “Schuette on Duty,” but the only people he serves are corporate polluters, drug company CEOs, and most recently, Donald Trump.”
