WZZM: ‘Snyder Not Endorsing Schuette for Governor’

“…the relationship between Governor Snyder and Attorney General Schuette has deteriorated”

The GOP civil war is delivering another blow to Bill Schuette’s struggling campaign, as WZZM is reporting that he can’t even secure an endorsement from Michigan’s sitting Republican governor:

“Two months before the November election, and Governor Rick Snyder says he is not endorsing any of the candidates to replace him. Not even fellow republican Bill Schuette.”

The WZZM report adds that “In recent years, the relationship between Governor Snyder and Attorney General Schuette has deteriorated.”

As previously reported by the Detroit News, Governor Snyder even responded “I’m sticking to governing and less politics at this point in time,” when he was asked “Do you like Bill Schuette?”

This is just more bad news for Bill Schuette, who has already spent his week doing damage control after the Detroit Free Press reported that the “Republican Governor’s Association is shifting $1.5 million in advertising money away from key voting markets,” while Politico and NBC are forecasting the race for governor is shifting in favor of Democrats.

“This is another major body blow to Bill Schuette. Governor Snyder knows that Schuette’s plan to gut Medicaid expansion for 680,000 Michiganders would be a health and economic disaster for working families,” said Michigan Democratic Party Spokesperson Sam Newton. “This GOP civil war continues to haunt and divide the Michigan Republican Party to Bill Schuette’s detriment.”
