Fans tested FIFA+ augmented reality at World Cup 2022

The FIFA+ mobile app allows fans located directly in the stands in Qatar to implement the function of augmented reality. They can scan the field and get a short questionnaire by clicking on each player. The data shows a heat map and the speed of football players.

Also, using the application, you can review VAR (Video Assistant Referee) replays and switch different camera angles. The ball was out of play during Japan’s winning goal against Spain. Initially, the referee did not allow the plan, but the decision was reviewed after viewing the fragment of the shot in the VAR system. Fans could do the same on their smartphones in FIFA+
