It’s completely possible. In fact I would go even further and say our future as a species depends on it. The problem with the current educational paradigm is that it teaches children that learning is external to them and based upon grades. If a child gets enough bad grades they give up on learning. In effect Education is killing off children’s natural drive and curiosity. It really isn’t that surprising though when you look at it. Schools were initially set up in the Industrial Age to simultaneously tame the population and produce compliant workers for company and factory owners.
