Personally I’ve always been a fan of Ed-tech when it’s been employed to help the teacher. Unfortunately most Ed-tech is designed to override teachers, or at best reduce them to the role of ‘learning facilitator’ or the dreaded ‘classroom technician.’ This is probably why many teachers hesitate when asked to employ the latest technological fad in their own classrooms. It’s usually pushed on them by aggressive school leaders who are keen to be seen as modern and up to date.
