Creating a Project in Unity

Creating your first project in Unity can be daunting, but it’s really simple once you get the hang of it. It all starts by opening up Unity Hub and clicking “New Project”

Now that you’ve clicked the button you will be in the “New Project” window. Here you will be able to name your project, select the engine, choose the location of your project, and select your template.

The templates are Unity’s way of taking out a step for you. Unity has additions that can be added to projects. These additions are called “Packages.” The templates that Unity provides will create a Unity project with certain packages already installed. This is a quality of life feature and does not stop you from changing any and all packages once you’ve created the project.

Once you click “Create Project” go grab a coffee, make a sandwich, and sit back while Unity takes a moment to get everything together.
