Social Media At Events

Networking at an event is much more than face to face interaction — whether you like it or not.

In the spirit of giving people useful information and not regurgitating advice given by others, here are my top tips for using social media to your advantage at an event.

1. Before the event, decide what information or content best sums up what you do or a mutually profitable call to action specific to the event. Post/Tweet/add to your Snapchat story it and then pin to your profile or make it the first snap in your story.

2. Know your username. No fiddling about for it. Time is important in networking.

3. Interact with others through the hashtag and arrange to meet. Get to know them. You’d be surprised at the friends and network you can create by doing this with genuine interest and without greedy intentions.
