EPL Weekly

My Mac is back up and running. New SSD and new battery (Like you care right??). Anyway was an interesting weekend of football. City continue to put up a rather disjointed campaign, Chelsea shocking against Bournemouth, Boring Boring UTD and well Liverpool ain't going to win the title guys.

It was the Shaqiri show (still have no idea how Hughes got him to Stoke), as he single handedly destroyed City. He turned fernando inside out LMAO!! I'm sure fernando is still wondering where Shaqiri is. City looked outta sorts and had no fight in em. I suppose people forget Stoke boasts and attacking trio of Shaqiri (Former Bayern), Affelay (former Barca) and Bojan (former Barca). Anyway Pellegrini is done at the end of this season for me. Can't keep the team consistent. Are they still my title favs?? Yes they still are. And only coz of the outrageous depth and talent they have. And of course Aguero and Silva.

UTD are just boring. They can't buy a goal right now. And all of us calling for Rooney to be benched, well we got out wish (errr well he was injured). Still Utd look predicatable and slow. Fans even shouted ATTACK ATTACK. LVG's brand of football sucks right now. To say he doesn't have the players is a cop out. Right now, any team can stop UTD, and thats not something that used to be said. I keep saying they are going to click and figure it out. Mmmmm that may have to be something they do without LVG.

Arsenal scoreline was flattering. But hey a win is a win, and right now the Gunners will take it. Ozil got ANOTHER assist. 12 in the season already. He is playing well, and right now he is a player the Arsenal can't afford to lose. Ramsey got into some amazing spaces to score goals. He will find his shooting boots, and if it's something he will give the Gunners that Cazorla can't, its GOALS GOALS GOALS!! With everyone around them losing or drawing, it was a good weekend for the Arsenal

Mini revival, if you call a win a 2 draws a mini revival. I did say until they string 3 wins in a row, I can't take Chelsea seriously right now. Bournemouth has justified my statement, with a win against a hapless chelsea. Ok Chelsea looked great in the 2nd half. But something is holding those guys back. They just can't finish right now. And every team right now feels like, "hey we can get a result against them". Top 4 is out for them this year, and hey maybe even top 6. With Spurs and Liverpool sure to be up there. Oh and Leceister.

Liverpool fans I am sure have gone from, "We are going to win the league" to something a bit a less deluded after tonights game. I feel they were a bit unlucky. Benteke needs to start scoring some of these sitters he keeps getting. And still no Coutinho. Liverpool should recover though, but with almost everyone ahead of em losing, it was chance they need to grab with both hands and they failed to do so. Still though, baby steps for the new Klopp philosphy. On a side note, is anyone watching that Wiljnudum guy??? He is class!!

Leceister just keep winning. This time thrashing a Swansea team that seems to have lost it's appetite for the game. Guys, Leceister are not lucking their way into wins. They are a genuinely great footballing side and are taking teams apart with ease. Mahrez and Vardy are a great duo, and this time it was Mahrez who made his mark on the game with a "hattrick". They have a really hard December though, and it Chelsea i believe who are up next. At the kingpower stadium you have to put your money on Leicester, RIGHT???

Rankings (A pure gut feeling type thing here. I have no formula for these rankings)

  1. Leceister are top of the pops. Can Chelsea slow them down next week?
  2. Arsenal — I said they would fall further, but they proved me wrong this weekend. Long may it continue
  3. UTD — Booooorrrriiiiingggg, Some of these draws are going to start turning into losses
  4. Its a toss up here between Liverpool and CITY. They both lost badly. I will give it to Liverpool, at least they showed heart and fight
  5. City — No heart No fight. Still my Favs though.
  6. Sp*rs
