Iraq needs to be supported to the extent it can defend itself and unify its various factions, but its long term success will only come when third parties are prevented from interfering and Iraq can operate without coercion or undue influence from any other nation. Highly doubtful of course, but it’s the longest and hardest roads traveled that often yield the greatest rewards.
