Ivor Novello Award-winning composer, producer and saxophonist John Harle has signed a publishing agreement with Faber Music.

As a film and TV composer, Harle has more than 100 credits to his name, however he is best known for his theme to the long-running BBC drama Silent Witness.

In 2013, he won the Best Soundtrack accolade at the Ivor Novello Awards for his work on BBC 2 production Lucian Freud — Painted Life.

Harle has also been artistic advisor and producer to Sir Paul McCartney, and has collaborated with Elvis Costello and Marc Almond.

As a musical director, he’s worked with legendary innovators Moondog and Herbie Hancock, while his work as an orchestral composer has seen him create more than 50 pieces for operas, the BBC Prom and the Birmingham Royal Ballet among others.

This signing follows Faber Music’s publication, earlier this year, of John’s comprehensive two-volume guide to saxophone technique The Saxophone: The Art and Science of Playing and Performing.
