Mica Levi shortlisted for an Oscar for Jackie score
Mica Levi, experimental artist and composer, has been nominated for an Oscar for her soundtrack to the film Jackie.
The Natalie Portman-starring biopic of Jackie Kennedy Onassis is one of the big Academy Award shortlisted films.
Mica, also known as Micachu, has been nominated in the category for Best Original Score.
Jackie is up against other heavyweight films, La La Land, Lion, Moonlight and Passengers for the award.
In 2013, Mica was nominated for a BAFTA for her score to Under The Skin. She won a European Film Award for her work on the Jonathan Glazer film.

Mica’s work in 2017 will include taking part in the New Music Biennial in this year’s capital of culture, Hull. The biennial is a PRS for Music Foundation initiative that supports and provides a platform for talented organisations and music creators who are pushing the boundaries of new music in the UK.
The Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel be broadcast live on February 26.
