Calling all beat makers: get one-to-one advice on honing your sound and learn from experienced musicians deep in their game with Multi-Track’s new Sound Surgery Masterclasses.

Hosted by producer and DJ Kayla Painter at Rough Trade Bristol, there are just 30 tickets available for each event so get in there quick if you want to hear from the pros and pick up some new skills along the way.

Open to producers at any stage in their development, each of the three sessions will bring in a featured artist who will share their insight on how they developed their craft.

Internationally acclaimed Bristol record producer Joker (pictured) breaks down dubstep and grime on the 22 February masterclass, drum and bass duo Jus Now will chat soca rhythms on 29 March and pioneering producer and DJ Om Unit will share his musings on 19 April.

The masterclasses are brought to you by Bristol’s into-industry portal Multi-Track with the support of PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Partnership.

Multi-Track aims to demystify the music business so that anyone can access the tools and knowledge they need to push for commercial success.

Host Kayla Painter said of the series: ‘The Sound Surgery masterclasses will be a great opportunity for developing artists to get individual tailored advice from professionals in their field.

‘Getting a chance to hear these professionals talk about their craft up close and personal is something that is more and more difficult to come by, so this is a really exciting chance for artists to come and get inspired.

‘It’s great to be involved with something like this as it has the possibility of reaching people of all stages of development and interests within production. It’s a fantastic chance to network and continue building on what is already a strong underground scene we have here in Bristol.’

Tickets for each of the sound surgery sessions cost £5. Visit www.multi-track.co.uk.
