#Beijing 2017–11–18 Reciprocal Cooperation and Innovation in new era of Economic Globalization, #OBOR, #Dentons

Interesting two days in Beijing, full of discussion of cross-border investment and risk control under the Belt and Road Initiative, hosted by Dentons, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary in China, the European New Silk Road Council, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Enterprise Rights Protection Center, the latest in a row of OBOR conferences that we have hosted in China. We exchanged information about cutting edge issues in multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution and other investment protection in doing deals worldwide. Much interaction of course about infrastructure investment but belt and road initiative is so much more. Our summit took place in the China National Convention Center, in the heart of the Beijing Olympic Green (remember the wonderful bird nest and the fantastic water cube, National Aquatics Center. Welcome speeches by our great China region leadership Mr Xiao Jinquan and Mr Peng Xuefeng, as also by our global CEO Elliott Portnoy, and contribution from many of us around China Region, where we are the largest firm within China, and the international offices of Dentons, as largest law firm in the world. I will issue a little article a bit later about what we in the West must learn from China wisdom, and the win-win solutions that the Chinese government and its economy and great people provide to us, about complimentary economies rather than competitive ones. We should not look inward too much, we should look outward. Special thanks to all my Chinese partners (who are already friends) and colleagues for your great hospitality.
