There are a ton of assumptions about motivations here.
Where is the agency here for any of the people you have talked about in the article….?
The problem, as is frequently the case in situations involving identity politics, is that you’re giving all the power to white men (or in this case, white people, period).
If you make white, straight people the ones who are keeping the doors shut for other, marginalized groups, then by default you make them the ones responsible for opening the door as well.
