The Senate Rejected the ACA Repeal!
Early this morning, after years of threats and months of limbo, the Senate failed to pass the “skinny bill” to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. This victory is because of your tireless work to push against policies and proposals that would harm our communities. On behalf of the entire Montana Women Vote team: thank you.
Together, we made thousands of calls to Senator Daines and Senator Tester. Phone banks — led by our amazing volunteers in Great Falls, Helena, and Missoula — provided the information for thousands more of our friends across the state to also raise their voices. You submitted hundreds of postcards with personal stories and hundreds of comments to Senator Daines. You never tired of rallying and marching with us and other partners on behalf of affordable health care access and continued to show up even in moments when everything seemed bleakest.
Today’s victory is because of you. Thank you. This work would not be possible without your time, energy, and support.
Join us this afternoon in rounding out the work of the last few months by making one more call to Senator Daines (202–224–2651), communicating our disappointment in his shameful failure to defend health care access for all Montanans. Also make a call to Senator Tester (202–224–2644), letting him know that we’re grateful for his unwavering support of our communities.
Montana Women Vote has never been an organization that rests for very long- we will continue to fight against attempts to roll back access and resolve ourselves to continue to push for policies that respect, value, and support all of our communities. As the health care debate continues to unfold, we’ll be on the front lines, keeping you up-to-date on what’s happening and ensuring that we all have opportunities to raise our voices for the kind of world we want to live in.
We will never stop working for a future where every single Montana family has the opportunity and resources to thrive. This vote is over, but we’re asking you to continue partnering with us in making real, lasting change in Montana. Stay tuned; there is more to be done.
Thank you for your continued commitment to Montana women and families.
