Is Winter a Good Time to Sell a Home?

By: Michael Thacker — Louisville Realtor

Sure, everyone will try to tell you that you shouldn’t put your home up for sale in the winter time. “No one buy’s a home in the winter” they might say. Well, let me tell you….they are WRONG!

Selling a home in the winter is a great idea. First off, you don’t need to tend to the yard as much, to keep it “show ready”! That’s a win right there if you ask me!

Second, there is less competition in the market, your home will stand out more. That is if you have it ready to sell! Polished, primped, and pulsing with desirability!

Third, you have less inventory, meaning you most likely will see a higher return from your housing investment. Fewer homes available, usually will see the adage kick in, “supply and demand”!

And finally, you have buyers who are MOTIVATED to buy. They would not be looking, just for the heck of it.

A buyer out in the winter weather have so many more options of things to do, even if it is just staying home, and staying warm. If they are seeing your home, they really are considering buying it!

I can give you more reasons, but you get the point. Don’t let the nay sayers tell you how to run your future, because in this case, they are most surely incorrect.
