As this Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself thinking of the past year, and how grateful I am for my family and friends, and for all the experiences I’ve had, and the wonderful men, women, and children who have come to my seminars and blessed me with their love and their trust.
I extend my heart to all of you with my sincerest thanks and love. Your courage to become awake and responsible in search of a more purposeful and peaceful life has lifted me and inspired me to seek deeper truths for myself. I am grateful that we can share this journey, and that we can all lift each other.
Of course, I also find myself thinking of all the people in the world today who are in pain and suffering — struggling to find things to be thankful for. I am thinking of all the people whose hearts are closed and can no longer see the beauty that is before them. Thank You doesn’t always come easy, especially when you’ve lost hope, or forgotten how to love and feel joy.
Unfortunately, darkness wants you to keep your heart closed, to stay in despair, and believe the glass is always half empty. Darkness wants you to think that there is nothing to be thankful for.
But you and I think differently. We know we must rise up and let go. We cannot resist and fight back the darkness that is creeping into our world. We need to concentrate on the best weapon we have — the inner light that comes from love and gratitude. From Thank You!
My friends, if you really want to change the world, I have an idea to propose to you. We must start a revolution. And I have just the perfect name. We’ll call it a Thank You Revolution.
We will rise each morning, and throughout every moment in our day, we will say thank you for all the blessings that come into our lives, even the difficult and seemingly overwhelming challenges we face.
We will say thank you for all of life because we know that every experience we have — good and bad — is pointing us to who we really are (our true Divinity) and helping us become the peaceful and happy souls we were meant to be.
And here is the beautiful thing about this new Thank You Revolution: we do not need to change the entire world; we only need to change ourselves.
Imagine if every human being on earth were to offer up one genuinely thankful thought each day. Who knows how much our planet would change? Who knows how this could open the way for the kingdom of God to penetrate this world?
As my wise mother used to say, “one thankful thought always leads to another.”
Let the Thank You Revolution begin! Could I count on you?
