Any guess on what is the most visited country in the world? Here’s a clue: It is hailed as the most romantic place on earth and a perfect destination for a date. I’m pretty sure you know the answer now.

France is the most visited country in the world with over 83 million tourists annually. It is globally the centre of art, science and philosophy with recognition as Europe’s 4th largest number of cultural UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here are some other reasons why France is the most favourite tourist destination:

French Food

France is known for specialities like croissants, Bayonne Ham, and some unusual but delicious delicacies like frog legs, snails and horse steak which makes the tourists come back for more. Together with the French cuisine is the recognition that this country also has the highest number of Michelin starred restaurants that can guarantee your food trip experience a satisfying and memorable one.

Fine Wines

French foods are partnered with fine vintage wines like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Chardonnay. These wines are delicately produced by France which makes them the 2nd biggest wine producer in the world.

French Cheese

France has around 450 distinct types of French cheese, and each type has many varieties so there could be around 1000 different types of French cheese you can try.

Architectural Designs

French architecture is one of France’s great accomplishments. Tourists love to witness and come close to the magnificent architectural designs of Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc de Triomphe, the beautiful Palace of Versailles and many other famous monuments, palaces, and cathedrals in France.

Museums

There’s a wide variety of museums in France which are devoted to paintings and sculptures, but if you want to see Mona Lisa, the masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci, then you can visit Musée du Louvre which is one of the largest museums in the world.

Good food, fine wines, amazing architectural designs, great museums, beautiful tourist spots and romantic ambience are all good reasons to visit France.
