MindNode 2.0 Mac App Review:

Several months ago, we introduced you to MindNode for iOS. It’s a powerful organizational tool that helps you to brainstorm and pull your thoughts together. The concept of ‘mind maps’ is not a new one, but MindNode brings us a 21st century way to do it. Mind maps are visual representations of ideas that start with a central thought and grow. Today, MindNode released an update for its Mac version to 2.0.

MindNode 2.0 for Mac has been completely redesigned from the ground up. The update includes both brand new features and improvements on existing features.

Having experience with the iOS version, I was very excited to test out the Mac version AND be able play with the newest features available. In my line of work, projects happen on the fly and we do a lot of brainstorming. This type of app really helps to flesh out ideas and be able to expand on them.

The Mac version of MindNode is a refreshing option for creating mind maps and be able to do more with the process. I love having the ability to have MindNode on my mobile devices, but sometimes feel like my thoughts aren’t complete. The Mac version allows me to enter more details since I have a keyboard and larger screen at my disposal.

The canvas is a beautiful blank, clutter-free space for you to work out your thoughts and project details. I’ve really had some great results using MindNode and have found myself to be more productive as a result of being able to get urgent ideas out on the page. One aspect of it that I really like is that it allow you to easily share mind maps with other through the web (MyMindNode), PDF, FreeMind, PNG or online text.

MindNode 2.0 for Mac is available starting today. It can be downloaded though the App Store and is available for an promotional price of $19.99. The regular retail price is $29.99.
