Vnina Water Ripples Light REVIEW

Add Flavor and ambience to the party

If you have ever been to a college party, you know the bass is turned up and the sound is extreme. These parties never were the same without strobe lights, disco balls and lighting effects. Add a beach theme with water/sand, add some shaving cream or foam and you turn an ordinary party into an extraordinary party.

I have received Vnina Party lights 7 color dynamic ocean led stage light. The product is shipped in a very colorful box, detailing the product very well on all sides. The top, front and back show the metallic blue light with the ceiling hanging mount and a few boxes of the colored ripple effect. The sides show five rectangles, each with a burst pattern of color: red, white, orange, blue, green. Opening the box, there are three separately wrapped plastic bags. The main bag contains the LED light, which measures 138mm by 120mm by 88 mm and weighs 0.45kg. The second bag contains the AC adaptor, with 45 inch cord. The third has a 4 1/4″ tall bendable tripod. There is a metallic U bracket, on top of the light, that is held on either end with black screw clamps. You can attach this to a fixed point on the ceiling. Unfortunately, there is no included hanging hardware.

The bendable tripod is located a little far back, making the device front heavy. It does hold up well on a table or fixed structure, like a shelf. You can position the bracket as a counter balance, helping to keep the light upright. It really does help to make the base wider, to prevent toppling. It obviously works better on a solid surface, such as a floor or wide based table.

The manual is a single page front and back. One side is written in choppy yet understandable English and the other side is in Chinese. There are details about the remote, diagrams of the back of the light, product parameters. I would love to tell you more about the instruction manual, but without “permitted, it is prohibited to spread the contents of this manual to others.” Also, “unless the instructions have alreadystated, please do not freely modified the unit.” Honestly, the language of the instruction manual is quite choppy and needs work. It actually is not really even needed. Simply unwrap the 5V/2A AC adaptor, plug it into the port on the side of the device. On the back of the light is a toggle switch. Slide it once to go to Auto mode, slide it again to go to music mode. In Auto mode, you can press the mode button on the back of the light and cycle through light colors or you can use the remote to change to a given color, a combination of colors or to add a strobe effect. The motor has 3 speeds, which are buttons on the remote or accessed by long pressing the mode button on the light.

My children really liked the light and they liked the music mode the most. You need to have a rather loud source of music to get a good beat. The light will turn on and off with the beat of the song. It is quite responsive, if the source is loud enough. If you are in auto mode, it plays a rippling effect in whatever color you so choose. There are single colors and combinations of colors to choose from.

Summary:
This is a lightweight water ripple effect light, specifically designed for indoor or possibly outdoor, dry conditions. The AC cord is long enough at 45″ and the Type A wall prong is designed for convenience. The prongs allow the long axis of the AC adaptor to not interfere with other cords in the outlet/surge protector. They include the tripod (screw on one end) and the ceiling bracket, but do not provide any mounting hardware. The volume of the fan is reasonable, not too loud. The colors are vibrant in dim and dark but are lost some during the day. I would rate the device at 4/5 stars as the tripod really does need to move forward a little to reduce toppling and the microphone needs to be a little more sensitive in music mode. Overall this is a fun water ripple effect light.
