Dungeons & Dragons: 4 Best Novels

Not all Fantasy correlates well with Dungeons & Dragons. For example, I love Harry Potter, but the magic system and spells in Harry Potter don’t really match D&D rules & expectations. With that in mind, here are my 5 favorite “D&D Fantasy Novels.”

#4 — I, Strahd: The Memoirs of a Vampire by P.N. Elrod

A Vampire book? No, you don’t understand. Count Strahd makes Dracula look like a fluffy bunny. This is no Twilight. This book is dark and if you are looking for a less than gruesome ending…pick one of the other three books on this list. This is how Vampires are supposed to be and it provides a much more accurate portrayal of D&D Undead, Curses & Magic. It’s also the single most important novel to understanding the D&D world/realm of Ravenloft — the best combination of Gothic Horror & DnD Fantasy. I highly recommend this masterpiece by P.N. Elrod as well as many of the other books in the Ravenloft Fantasy series.
