We’ve built a kick-ass game in 3ish days!

reddit factions is live!

People are already starting to claim subreddits, recruiting people to their factions and looking for territories to expand into. If there’s a particular sub you have your eye on you’ll want to claim it quickly. If you haven’t read about how we got to this stage, head here to start over.

Our last night at the retreat was a blur of frantic coding, scribbling, whisky drinking and very little sleep. At the 11th hour (literally as it was 11pm) one of our devs decided to be a smart-arse and add a major feature without consulting the rest of the team. A seemingly great idea at the time! It was promptly removed in the blindingly harsh, light of day.

sunglasses at breakfast were a popular fashion item

Hangovers not withstanding, the team was pretty keen to finish the build. We generally have a rule of no deployments on a Friday afternoon. But let’s face facts, rules have been more like guidelines anyway on this retreat. To quote Dirty Harry …

you’ve got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?

Well no … the bus was rapidly approaching to take us back to Melbourne, so we had to pull up stumps and finish off on Monday.

In all seriousness, it wouldn’t have been possible to accomplish launching a brand new game in 3ish days without the entire team working together towards one singular goal. Every team member stepped up to the plate, and together we’ve managed to smash the absolute shit out of it.

Some interesting stats … everyone loves stats.

Cos at this point … no one wants to read

We hope you’ve enjoyed reading about our project! It’s been a blast.
