Instagram has been updating their app throughout the last few months. The updates come without any warning and most are good, however, Instagram announced a new update that will go live in everyone’s feeds soon.

Usually, the public accepts Instagram's changes very well. This specific update has Instagram fans up in arms.

The app developers have decided to ditch the chronologically ordered feed and let an algorithm decide what will be the most popular and place those post at the top of your feed.

So far, the change has caused bloggers, brands, and Instagram celebrities to ask their followers to get push notifications whenever they post. This is an attempt to make sure their users still see their content.

One of the main reasons Instagram lovers joined the app was because it was a chronological news feed. This change is causing many reactions over the other social sites as well.

Angry people have taken to Twitter and Facebook to express their concern.

People are confused and angry over the update. This could cause some changes in the audience of Instagram.

Snapchat is becoming a more legitimate competitor for the app. With this in mind, Instagram should be considering what it’s users want. Snapchat can’t offer everlasting timelines, but it is giving everyone access to it’s daily 100 million users. I can only assume this sounds very appealing to most Instagram users.

In the next coming days most users will be seeing this new timeline but it hasn’t been release completely yet. The company said it is working closely with users to make sure they get it right before updating everyone’s social site.
