Principle-based approaches are very successful and the approach is getting more attention in the business world. I’m surprised by the negative responses to this article and have wondered what the principles are of folks who seem to be saying “the only way I can get a fair shake is for everyone else to go away”. I don’t think the majority of people share this view, but it leads this group to feel victimized. It’s a world view that lacks optimism— but incorporating people into better teams can have good outcomes, if the opportunity arises.
