Decentralized finance (DeFi) is changing the financial landscape, and Magpie is the perfect nesting ground, offering users greater control and autonomy over their assets.

At the center of the DeFi nest are decentralized protocols that allow users to trade, lend, and borrow without relying on centralized third parties.

Magpie Protocol facilitates the growth of one of the most exciting and growing areas within the DeFi space: cross-chain swap protocols, which allows users to trade assets across different blockchain networks while maintaining the tenets of DeFi: Decentralization, Transparency, Permissionless, and Anonymity.

Decentralized

Decentralized cross-chain swaps offer several advantages over traditional centralized exchanges, one of which is that our birds are not stuck in bird cages, and are free to fly wherever. But with that freedom, you need security, which is one of the most important features within DeFi.

Users need to be able to trust the platforms and protocols they use, knowing that their funds are secure and that the system won’t be compromised by bad actors.

Additionally, protecting from a situation such as a complete collapse (FTX) or a situation when exchanges temporarily halt trading or moving assets when it’s not beneficial for them (Binance).

You’re free to trade whenever and however much you want in DeFi, while being in complete control of your assets.

Non-custodial

Magpie is non-custodial, meaning that we are not ever in control of your assets, unlike a centralized exchange, where users must deposit and give complete control of their assets to a third party.

With Magpie, users don’t have to move assets to a third party, or custodial exchange or service, making for a much safer way to transact, reducing the risk of theft or loss of funds due to a hack or security breach.

Additionally, users don’t need to lock their tokens into a bridge or wrap tokens, as we use smart contracts to automatically execute trades, ensuring that the process is non-custodial.

Permissionless & Transparent

One of the main advantages of using Magpie Protocol is that we provide a transparent way to transact within DeFi, even when going cross-chain, by operating on a trustless & permissionless system.

Users don’t have to trust or give permission to a centralized third party to facilitate their trades, so no one will be clipping their wings.

Magpie, as well as the blockchains and protocols we integrate, are largely transparent, meaning that users can look through the smart contract code to see for themselves what’s going on behind the scenes.

This makes for a system where community members can feel more secure in which protocols they are using for their trading, borrowing, or lending needs.

Anonymous

Like a stealthy owl in the night, saying Hoo Hoo!, or in this case who, who!

One of the advantages of DeFi and Magpie Protocol is that of anonymity, users are not required to complete KYC, or Know Your Client, in order to use the service and we do not region lock users.

This means that users from anywhere can access and use Magpie, helping to create a truly free future of finance and no one will know who’s flying around in the Magpie flock.

While we didn’t cover all of the benefits of using a decentralized cross-chain protocol, we did cover some of the ones of more importance to those that enjoy using DeFi on a regular basis.

With Magpie, you can keep those feathers unruffled and comfortably use us for all your cross-chain needs.
