Magpie’s recent campaign, Magpie’s New Years Masquerade, attracted quite a few birds looking to join the party, and we wanted to share some of the metrics with you all today.

The campaign witnessed active participation from 972 individuals, with an incredible 48% being entirely new users to the Magpie ecosystem! These party goers were able to achieve an astounding 123 million in volume within just 14 days! This volume was spread across 8 different chains, showcasing the widespread appeal and adoption of Magpie’s offerings.

The influx of fresh faces indicates not only the campaign’s success in engaging existing users but also its ability to attract and onboard a substantial number of newcomers, ready to join the flock. 😉

The Masquerade saw an impressive 5966 transactions during its duration, which underlines the active involvement carried out by the users, emphasizing the size of some of the transactions as well, showcasing the ability for Magpie to grab great deals when handling huge transaction amounts.

On Sybil Attacks

In the realm of decentralized campaigns, the threat of Sybil attacks is always at hand. To counter this, Magpie, in collaboration with Tide, has implemented a monitoring system for account activity. The goal is to ensure fair play and prevent individuals from creating multiple accounts to manipulate the system and gain an unfair advantage in order to try and take multiple rewards for themselves.

Magpie’s policy is that each user can only win one reward place, preventing any single participant from dominating the rewards pool. This approach not only upholds the integrity of the campaign but also encourages genuine user engagement and participation.

For instance, if a participant secures positions 2, 3, and 5, Magpie will recognize and reward them only for their second-place achievement. The subsequent reward positions will be rightfully awarded to the next unique users in line, fostering a fair distribution of rewards.

We’re incredibly impressed and grateful to the New Years party goers in the Magpie Masquerade campaign, helping to reach absolutely crazy volume numbers in such a short span of time. We hope to see you back in our next campaign and to show our community that we are putting in the work to keep the competitions fair.
