The way out of

Brexiters- Lies and Deceits

It is clear that what the west is experiencing at the moment are the result forces and policies taken in the past. The two main reasons mentioned for the rise of extremists are:

1) Fear of foreigners invading their countries. This includes both economic migrant and refuges due the killing fields in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

2) Anger over the increasing disparity of income between those who are enjoying the full fruits of the economic wealth creation and those who are seeing themselves worse off than their parents economically. It is a fact that the wages and salaries of the working people in real terms have not increased during the last 30 years.

Only by pointing out the true reasons behind each of these drivers one can stop the great slippery slope into isolationism and building of walls of hate called for by the like of Trump and the UKIP party.

A) Fear of Foreigners. The strategy of spreading fears of foreigners have been successfully employed by some unethical politicians: over the entire human history. let us see why it works?

1) The earliest human responses taken by Hunters Gatherers are “Fight or Flight” in order to survive. These are responses to the strong emotions of Greed to satisfy basic needs, or Fear of great harm to ensure survival. The shallower the knowledge and wisdom of the individual the more likely to have these basic emotions controlling his or her behaviors. All unethical politicians come to prominence when the time is ripe to unleash the forces of fear as a tool of directing the masses. With terrorism and refugees are on the rise, the time is certainly ripe.

2) The father of political science the Greek philosophers Plato was the first one to spell out why democracy does not work if the masses do not understand the issues put in front of them. They are like a sailing ship, they move in any direction the wind blows. There is no stronger wind at present than the wind of the unethical politicians employing the policy of fears with the electorates who see increasing number of foreigners coming to their country with little success of stopping them. These electorate have little chance of understanding the complex issues Brexit or they shut their eyes and ears for fear of discovering that they have been deceived for so long by their politicians. one should never forget that Hitler came to power through similar tactics and election process.

3) So it is clear then that the rise of extremists is a reaction to Fear of foreigners and terrorism in the west and to the rise of injustices in Middle East. Bernie Sanders, the contender to Democratic party in the USA, identified recently the true forces behind the great injustices afflicting the ME. He says most of the current world evils are the results of the Kissinger plans put after the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973. These plans aimed at crushing the Arab world through creating religious conflicts between Sunni Muslims and Shiite Muslims, recycling the oil surpluses to the US treasury and ensuring the absolute dominance of Israel. The wars and the sever economic boycotts that followed the implementation of these plans led to the flood of refugees and the rise of terrorism. These underlying reasons have unleashed powerful destructive forces in the forms of conflicts, Jihadists terrorism, West Bank settler’s fundamentalism which cannot be resolved without the international community taking a more even handed approach and a moral stand by supporting France call for international conference to resolve the ME issue. The USA would not do so due the strong Jewish lobby there. So Europe is being punished for not standing up to its principles by challenging injustices and now paying the price by getting refugees knocking at its shores. In fact, Britain was the main culprit when Tony Blair, who came to power under the lies of Ethical Foreign policies, supported Bush in invading Iraq. That invasion and the dismantling of the Iraqi army resulted in the ultimate creation of ISIS. So the very uninformed British voters who elected Blair now blame Europe for the flood of refugees.

4) As to the migrant workers under the treaty, this is a genuine issue needs to be addressed at European level and the Brexit result could trigger a positive response from Europe.

B) Anger over increase of disparity of income. The masses are not getting their share of the wealth creation due to the financial big bangs unleashed by Reagan and Thatcher to break up the will of the trade unions in the early 80s. While those forces led to globalization and the big creation of wealth, very little has benefited the 99% of the population. Again Europe is not the reasons for the low income of the masses but the greed of the bankers and the elites who ensured that they get the politicians of their choice to maintain this immoral split of the national income between Labour and capital. In fact, the European’s policies were the main protections for the workers’ rights. So for those who say lets get the power back to the UK are not the workers champions but those who believe in the old class system.

So a way out for the UK and Europe may be as they negotiate the exit road map, Europe becomes more responsive to the electorate by:

a) becoming more active in adopting an ethical foreign policies to resolve the ME problems,

b) ensuring a fairer redistribution of income through legislating for a minimum wages and insisting on their trading partners to reward their employees fairly,

c) putting a limit on the movement of EU workers to allow a smoother integration and avoid overwhelming the recipient’s communities.

d) Britain agrees to put the new deal to the voters again who will be better informed of the issues as they discover the lies and deceits used by the Brexiters.

d) the British parliament agrees to start the process of the exit negotiation subject to a second vote to be put to the people explaining what is on offer and get agreement from the Scottish government to forgo their independence referendum.

e) David Cameron with Boris as his deputy, to lead the negotiation with Europe and support the second referendum if they get the desired results from Europe.
