A report of IT and business experts has shown that 93% of respondents crosswise over organisation size are tested by information security. Usually Organisations which are larger put great effort in protecting the privacy of sensitive data, but they also have to face great risks, such as that there could be customer records which get stolen.
Since it is really hard to live without social media nowadays. Social media platforms have chosen to register consumers only if they provided their personal information to such services so that they benefit from the data given. Not only that, once consumers are registered this kind of platforms could gain even more information without the consumer noticing, for example while using Snapchat location services should be turned on so that users could access filters, this way Snapchat could easily find out where each of its users are. Google could also save search histories of what each user had searched for.
As a result, users are giving their personal information for the sake of benefiting from the services offered and not being cautious of the harms or privacy issues they could face, some consumers give out their personal information without even noticing that they could be saved or kept for later usage.
