I wanted to add that my great-great grandfather John McNally immigrated from Ireland during the Famine, settled in Pine Bluff, AK, and by the 1860 census was worth $50K in real estate and $10k in cash. According to some further research, he evidently owned at least 36 slaves. Not a particularly lovely family history.
