Digitized Early NASA photos
Here are scanned photographs from Projects Mercury, Gemini and Apollo that were made available thanks to the efforts of NASA, L. B. J. Space Center and Arizona State University.
Project Mercury
The purpose of Project Mercury was to accomplish the seemingly impossible. To safely send a man into space and return him back alive.
The program ran from 1959 to 1963 and a total of 6 missions were flown.
On May 5, 1961, Alan Shepard became the first American in space.




Project Gemini
Project Gemini was the second human spaceflight program of NASA, its objective was to develop space travel techniques in support of Apollo.







Project Apollo
The most known NASA program was Project Apollo, which accomplished landing twelve humans on the Moon.
