DRESS AS SOMETHING TRULY SCARY THIS HALLOWEEN
THIS HALLOWEEN, THE MOST TRULY FRIGHTENING ANIMAL OUT THERE MAY BE THE ONE YOU’D LEAST SUSPECT.
_____________
Every year, Americans come up with clever and creepy costumes for Halloween designed to scare the living daylights out of their friends and neighbors. And so, we gathered up some young friends and asked them to dress up as the most factually dangerous animals in the world, the most frightening of which will likely surprise you. For starters, it’s 7,250 times more dangerous than a lion. OH MY!

While scaly and well-armored crocodiles are feared by people across the globe, the most truly frightening animal should make us 725 times more nervous.

From Raiders of the Lost Ark to Snakes on a Plane, we’ve been conditioned to be terrified of these slithery creatures…and we have reason to be! Snakes take the lives of 50,000 people annually. But the scary truth is, the world’s most frightening animal is still almost 15 times worse.

Even though we spend a full week each year – Shark Week! — being equally fascinated and horrified by these titans of the sea, we should fear the world’s most frightening animal at least 72,500 times more than sharks, which only claim 10 human lives every year.

BUT THE SCARIEST COSTUME OF ALL IS…
The MOSQUITO! Don’t be fooled by its dainty size, the mosquito (specifically the female Anopheles mosquito) is actually the most dangerous creature on the planet claiming 725,000 human lives a year. The overwhelming majority of these are because of malaria, a disease that is especially dangerous to pregnant women and children. Mosquitoes claim 72,500x more lives than sharks, 7,250x more lives than lions, 725x more lives than crocodiles, and 15x more lives than snakes. That makes the mosquito the most factually frightening costume this Halloween.

THE GOOD NEWS IS, IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.
At Malaria No More, we believe no one should die from a mosquito bite. And you can join us in our mission to defeat this deadly foe.
Take action today by joining Power of One, where every $1 given provides a life-saving test and full course of treatment for a child with malaria in Africa, thanks to our partners Novartis and Alere.
One dollar given. One child saved. How many lives will you save today?
