Putting people into cars and taking them somewhere in exchange for money is also a well known and established business, and none of the technology that Uber used in its early days was particularly advanced. It’s the way it was used that made it interesting to study. In fact, many of the most interesting disruptors aren’t based on inventing a new technology.
