What are the Duck Frens?
Duck Frens is a community driven collection of 5,000 randomly generated NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain. While the ducks are very cute on their own as a profile picture, we want to deliver more than just that to our holders. The web3 space is constantly evolving and we have seen how hard it is for projects to deliver something with true long term utility. Many projects have a roadmap which looks good on paper, but leads them to a dead-end in the short-term. We believe that the metaverse is the future of NFTs and Web3, and integrating a project into it is key for a true long-term vision.
We’d also like to provide holders with exclusive raffles and whitelist giveaways for other projects so that they can feel a tangible reward in the very short-term after the mint.
Pixel Ducks
One of the first deliverables on the roadmap will be the Pixel Ducks!
The Pixel Ducks will be a free, claimable NFT for anyone holding a Duck Fren. This will be a separate collection on OpenSea. These Pixel Ducks will mark the beginning of our integration into the many metaverses. They’re also just extremely cute!
Metaverse Integration
In the spirit of delivering long-term utility, the Duck Frens will be taking a dive into the metaverse. We believe that the interoperability of the Duck Frens will be key in delivering value to the holders.
Here are some of the goalposts we want to hit with this endeavor:
- Apply for and integrate with the Worldwide Webb.
- Apply for and integrate with Pixlverse.
- Explore other metaverses, including 3D/Voxel Duck Frens.
Based on our communications with the relevant people in each goalpost, we believe that we can achieve these goals in the short/mid-term.
Merchandise
We believe the Duck Frens collection is perfect for building a brand that can be used for clothing and other items. We want to deliver on having merchandise featuring the best parts/artwork of the Duck Frens collection that people will be comfortable wearing outside. In the longer term, we believe we can expand Duck Frens beyond clothing (rubber duckies/toys anyone?).
Future Drops, Experiences, and Utility Token
In the long term, the original 5,000 Duck Frens collection will serve as the genesis collection for which we grant access to our future drops and experiences off of. We also have plans for a utility token in the future. We have no interest in creating a token with no utility as we have witnessed many projects do. We believe that we can create a useful utility token for Duck Frens once we have fully integrated into the many metaverses.
