Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Vratham is an auspicious vrata dedicated to Lord Satyanarayana swamy (Lord Vishnu).
The Sathyanarayan puja (vratam) is a way of showing gratitude to Lord Vishnu for blessing one with all good fortune in life, including an excellent career, well-settled family life, and other achievements. So, at all occasions of success including those in business, at marriage functions, during the Namakaranam ceremony, this puja is performed to glorify and dedicate the role played by god in one’s achievements.

Sri Satyanarayana Puja (Vratham) Procedure -
On this day devotee should have holy bath early in the morning, and the house should be clean and decorated with flowers. The Satyanarayana Vratam mandap should be arranged with flowers, garlands. First the prayer begins with lord Ganesh, next followed by the Navagraha and the archana will be done along with the 108 names of Lord Satyanarayana. Many more Mantras, Slokha, are recited by the pundit for the blessings of Satyadeva.

More About Satyanarayana Vratam(Puja) -
Satyanarayan Puja is a religious worship of the Hindu God Vishnu, for Satya means truth, and Narayan means the Highest Being, i.e. Vishnu. Put together, Satyanarayan means the highest being who is an embodiment of Truth. Satyanarayan Katha is a part of Satyanarayan Puja, where Katha means story. Reva Kanda of Skanda Purana tells the story of the Vrat Katha. Suta Maharshi was the first to narrate the Satyanarayana Katha to the Rishis, who were performing a 1,000-year yagna for the benefit of humankind lead by Shounakji. The puja is a collection of many short stories which portray the significance and benefits of observing the vratham.
