An Open Letter on Diversity to Event & Conference Organisers
Natalie Kane

Thank you for sharing, Natalie.

You’re spot on about diversity being more than about a race/age/gender/religion mix…or at least “diversity” alone is a first gen approach to addressing exclusive, poor (and dangerous) cultural norms.

The real goal is BELONGING— that sense of safety that everyone should have at a conference. And, any conference that professes to have a code of conduct to ensure diversity & inclusivity, should absolutely take note of (and avoid) those who FAIL to represent a value they say they uphold. Otherwise, what the hell is the point?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
