Use Fear
Day 68
Fear will always be there, no matter how hard we try to overcome it. This can be sobering or exciting depending on who you’re asking. If you asked me at any point in the vast majority of my life, I would have been in the former camp. However, I’m starting to realize that fear, like anything else, can be used for good or evil. Sure, we all know what it’s like to be so afraid of failure, judgement, success, etc. We all know what it’s like to have fear impede us from living out our dreams. But I’ve (and maybe you too) been doing it wrong. Fear is a the great motivator.
It’s okay to be afraid of failure, but be understand that not trying is failure. Be afraid of waking up later in life and regretting never starting [whatever you want to do but you’re not doing]. Be afraid of getting old and looking back and realizing that you had the world at your fingertips but you let it slip out because you were afraid to take chances or risks. You’ll realize these potential “negative” consequences you’ve conjured up in your head pale in comparison with a life full of regret. Be afraid of living a life that’s not yours. Be afraid of not being true to yourself. Be afraid of being afraid to be who you are. Be afraid of living a life of complacency. Be afraid of not impacting the people you were meant to impact. Be afraid of a calculated, easy, regimented and boring life. Be afraid of being afraid of what makes you weird and stupid and crazy and unique.
Use that fear.
And get moving.
