I’m so thrilled to read of your post.

The focus of my thesis is “how we can help seniors learn to use technology”. First of all, it’s important to help the senior realize that technology is learned. It isn’t magic.

After that it’s about identifying the specific goal or interest the senior has as well as identifying the senior’s capabilities. 1:1 sessions are best for beginners, while group classes are good for novices. Perhaps you can try signing her up for a 1:1 session? Check your library or senior centres.

Family are often terrible teachers. Too impatient is what I’ve often heard.

If they can get to a point where they’re able to pick and choose how to apply technology to their life, that’s ideal.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
