“When you give people an opportunity to be part of something, they’re going to be proud of what they’ve helped create.” — FunToad

Based on the belief that audience participation is key to any good performance, FunToad is a platform which provides new artistic possibilities to performers by harnessing the power of mobile devices for performances.

FunToad offers artists the ability to experiment with visual effects, spatial sound, and lyric translation during their performances, transforming spectators into participants, and creating new, multi-sensory performance possibilities. It is this innovative approach to live performance that has enabled Funtoad to gain the attention of prominent artists in the music industry.

Arab-Israeli singer Mira Awad, who was one of the first artists to use FunToad’s technology, sums it up perfectly:

“It broadcasts sounds and images to the audience’s phones that complete and compliment the stage performance (For example we used it to send translations of my songs). It’s amazing when technology comes to serve art, the app blew my mind with it’s huge potential, and I definitely see myself using it in my future concerts.”

In anticipation of Funtoad’s launch this summer, MarathonArtists LABs will be hosting a demo-evening at Tileyard Studios, London, on July 6. This event will showcase the startups that make up LABs’s first 6-month accelerator program.
