That’s a good point. A good friend was trained in illustration at Art Center, probably the finest art school on the west coast, if not the country. For many years he worked as a freelance editorial illustrator. He always insisted that he was a trained craftsman (although he did pursue fine art, he didn’t consider that his career). He stopped doing that when the illustration field became dominated with computer graphics because he took pleasure in the physical acts of drawing and painting. He’s now a tattooist and comic book artist.
