Thank you for writing this, John. I teach Justice and Human Rights at Michigan State; we just had a conversation in my class about what we all need to do to move forward. And we have to have these uncomfortable conversations (and I mean uncomfortable for the white folks). I don’t have to worry about my family (husband, brothers, uncles, stepson) in the ways that my friends of color do, and that’s not fair. It must be exhausting and scary and maddening and sad all at the same time.
