As we have mentioned before in our article about the start of our Marginless eSports brand, our Dota 2 team has participated in the Infoshow LAN 2018 and won the first place in the Dota 2 tournament which was sponsored by Razer. Today, as we have promised, we wanted to tell you more about our experience while participating in Infoshow and how we have won the whole tournament.

Infoshow LAN — The Start

InfoShow LAN is an informatic student festival which started in 2000 and from then on has not stopped surprising people with lots of original events. The festival starts on the 15th of April and in 10 days it unifies a wide variety of informatics branches, music, video games, Japanese culture and many more activities into one unforgettable experience.

Infoshow LAN offers a lot of different activities ranging from different conferences, Anime Nights, KTU Code Jam and the most popular LAN party in Lithuania — Infoshow LAN. Infoshow LAN party offers a lot of different tournament experience — starting with Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, HearthStone, World of Tanks and then ending it with Dota 2 in which we have participated.

Tournament Specifics

Infoshow Dota 2 Tournament took place on the 14th of April and it started on 1:00 PM local time. Every game used Captain’s mode and the whole tournament was split into four stages:

· Stage 1–13rd of April. 8:00 PM local time. TOP16 BO3, single elimination.

· Stage 2–14th of April. 12:00 AM local time. TOP8 BO3, single elimination.

· Stage 3–14th of April. 1:00 PM local time. TOP4 BO3, single elimination.

· Stage 4–14th of April. 6:00 PM local time. Final BO3, single elimination.

As we have mentioned in the start of this article, this tournament was sponsored by Razer which means that all of the prizes were set up by them too. The first place got 5x Razer Deathstalker essential keyboards, Razer Leetpacks and Monster Energy drinks. Second place won 5x Razer Deathadder Chroma mouses + Razer Leetpacks and Monster Energy drinks. Third place won 5x Razer Goliathus Speed S mousepads, Razer THS exclusive keychains and Monster Energy drinks.

Marginless eSports Experience

Infoshow has not only been the debut for our Marginless eSports Dota 2 team, but it was also a debut for our team roster as well. As we have stated before, we are not afraid to call ourselves the best in Lithuania — we proved that by beating every team 1–0 o or 2–0 and we had zero loses.

We played 8 games throughout the whole tournament against four teams — “Partizanai”; “No U”; “3xo”; and “Ebim Team (322)”. Four other teams that participated in the tournament were team “Zaliukai”, “Team_Tadzius”, and “Full Strategy”.

Our first game was against team “Partizanai”. As Marginless eSports Dota 2 team member NZZ said in his short summary about the challenges that they have faced while playing in Infoshow, team “Partizanai” hero picks and late game strategy was off-point and that was the main reason why team “Partizanai” lost every advantage that they had.

Second game that we played was against a team “No U”. We beat them in just over 18 minutes and as our team member Ainox has said:

“We had a far better advantage in mid-game and we just crushed them, nothing I could add more.”

The hardest games were against the team 3xo. Marginless eSports Dota 2 team has played two matches against them and both of them were really interesting and unique — different hero picks, strategies and buys — everything concluded into two 40–50 minute games were we came on top, but biggest kudos to team 3xo as we really enjoyed playing against them!

Marginless eSports brand — the future

As we have mentioned before, we have a long-term vision for Marginless and the Marginless eSports brand as a whole. Dota 2 is not the only game we want to participate in — we have huge plans for the future and we want to create the best possible environment for eSports players worldwide. After our great start at Infoshow LAN 2018, our Dota 2 team is hyped and ready to win new leagues, matches and tournaments worldwide.

We are always thinking of expanding into new spaces and eSports is no different to that. We have a lot of different ideas and plans for other eSports titles and leagues. As we have said, Marginless eSports will be a brand, not just a regular team or organization. Our own tournaments and LAN leagues are in the upcoming plans too, so stay tuned for that. Merchandise, streams and video content is being created right this moment, so if you want to keep up to date — follow our social media pages.
