Malawian Wedding

This past weekend, I went to my first Malawian Wedding- Venji and Tili’s. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding at Lake Malawi.

The highlight was taking part in the Malawian wedding tradition ‘perekani, perekani’ where we danced around the bride and groom while tossing bills at them.

Also, what is a Malawian wedding without a few live chickens running around? One of the wedding staff ran towards us exclaiming that a chicken was on the loose. Luckily, he was found under our table.
