The power of your full potential
Who shut you down? When did your ambition go into hiding? Why did you give up passion and purpose just so that you could blend in, or fit in with other people’s plans?
Mine was in my early 20’s, by those in leadership over me (I do not hold this against them), who mistook my ambition for arrogance and told me to learn ‘humility’. So, learning ‘humility’ for me meant hiding my passion, my ambition and my burning desire to be the very best that I could be, for my own good, and for the good of those around me. Rather than being true to myself and living in my full potential, I decided to live the life that was easily digestible by those around me. In doing so, I lost my way for a long time.
I am thankful today for the lessons this has taught me, especially when it comes to leading others who are given into my care. Rather than shutting them down because their ambition makes me uncomfortable, I would rather empower them to be all that they can be.
***Our Greatest Fear***
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.
