I GOT THE SPARK!
I took a leap into the world of Entrepreneurship: Oh uh that ‘E’ buzz word we hear daily has consumed me and call me crazy but I’m ready to explore whether or not I have what it takes to become an ‘Entrepreneur!’ yes I said it an Entrepreneur!
The singer songwriter/ Artist in me suggests that I’m a story teller, suggests my talents as a musician, vocalist and performer have laid the foundation blocks to being imaginative, engaging, visionary, self -aware, curious, open to cultivate and explore collaborations, somewhat intuitive, always taking action, the ability to pitch / perform, opportunity hungry, excellent people skills and the ability to negotiate, learn, evolve, pivot and re-invent myself.
My work co-ordinating and planning projects for start up organisations has put me in good stead for thinking logistically, working in and leading teams, going the extra mile to secure successful outcomes.
In fact its not unusual for music artists to embark on entrepreneurial endeavours: which according to the Natwest Entrepreneurial Spark leaders are just some of the key qualities needed to be considered as having an entrepreneurial mindset.
This month (August 2017) I have been formally accepted on to the Natwest Entrepreneurial Spark business accelerator ‘SPRINT’ Programme, a 3 month programme which is perfect for people like me, who have an ideas to explore, test and have the opportunity to cultivate the mindset alongside the knowledge gained during the course to see if I have what it takes to become successful in the world of business.

While i’m on this new adventure I have access to FREE office space, office facilities, mentoring, training and the opportunity to grow my network with like minded driven entrepreneurs. I’ve already been introduced to some phenomenal people and organisations that have sprouted from the the Natwest E-Spark programme and I feel honoured to be among them.

From being unemployed a few months ago, feeling unsure and having lack of financial security I’m now taking back the reins of my future and having the opportunity to create and shape a life that will aim to positively impact on the lives of others and my own. I say this with real conviction and a willingness to radically change my life for the better, with no expectations of my new chapter being smooth sailing, but every bit worth it!
I’ll be documenting my journey, revealing my ideas, insights, learning’s, highs and the inevitable lows, in fact I know many of you in my network have embarked successfully on your entrepreneurial journeys or are thinking about doing so, perhaps you have started or even completed a Natwest E-Spark Programme, it’ll be great to hear from you, reach out for tips, advice or just some uplifting encouragement as I transform into a budding entrepreneur.
