My granddad was in the Coast Guard, and my mother always told me about how growing up, my grandmother would assign different kids to come to the PX with her to do the grocery shopping (they had 13 kids, and grocery shopping for 15 people is a multi-person undertaking). Once, one of my aunts ducked out of her PX duty, and she ended up getting grounded for three months because of it.
