Assuming it is substantive, yes. Shea is human, like everyone else. I don’t enjoy defending his churlishness, but will do so nonetheless in defense of a person who does in fact have and maintain human relationships to the betterment of the Church — or else he wouldn’t have a following and he wouldn’t have been hired by the NCR. Your criticism fails the “he’s a human being” test, just like the NRC failed.
