Be still. Just be still.

The trouble is, we’re not still enough. We don’t read enough. We don’t listen enough.

We bleed when we’re already anemic.

We speak when we’re empty.

And the world is filled with the empty, noisy banter of the human race.

While humans all around us are waiting to hear the words of truth.

Read 10 times as much as you write.

Stephen King says, “If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot, and write a lot.”

Writing is communication. Social media has allowed us all to communicate a lot without thinking a lot. I scan my feed and see a lot of regurgitated information — people speaking in sound bites of each other’s thoughts. Politics are the worst, but really just represent the lack of individual thought we face as a nation.

We all need to read more, and then we all need to think more.

And talk less.

Then when we speak, it will be worth listening to.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
